I know everyday we should say how much we care for and love our moms, but I wanted to do a special post in honor of Mother’s Day. I am so thankful for all the mother’s in my life. They have all taught me so much about myself and how I am a mother to my children.
Two of the most amazing women I know are my mom and my husband’s mom. They both raised us as single parents and gave us examples of strength, grace and unconditional love. My husband and I along with our kids are very blessed to have them in our lives. Both women have a strong faith and rely on the Lord each and every day. In the 7 1/2 years we have been married our moms have become friends and I just laugh thinking of the two of them together. They are so funny, telling stories and giggling…it is quite funny to see.
Vivian with my mom (L) and my husband’s mom (R). I realized I do not have a picture with either one of our moms and I don’t have any updated pics of our moms and the kids. I have decided to take more pictures when we are together!
There are also those women out there that have influenced me as a mother. Those friends that have older children now. I was able to see them as mother’s to young kids before I was married. I was able to see how they showed this amazing love to their kids that I did not quite grasp yet. Now as a mom I get it. I now fully understand the overwhelming, unwavering love a mother has for their child…it is true you can’t explain it to someone, they have to experience it.
The mom’s that are on this journey with me as we care for our young children are so important. The mom’s I see at our kids activities that are going through the same things as I am right now. I thank them for being such wonderful mothers and a great support system. We share stories, swap tips, and sometimes vent to each other about our day-to-day happenings with little ones. Knowing there are others right there with me in this mom adventure is what helps the most some days!
May we celebrate moms everywhere!
