Wow another week has flown by! It has been filled with many exciting things and fun finds (see links below)!
Tornadoes and Yoga
I was at yoga on Sunday night enjoying the weekly class I go to when our family schedule perfectly aligns and the teacher brought up tornadoes.
What does that have to do with yoga? Well, we were nearing the end of class in Savasana (Corpse Pose), relaxing when she used a great analogy of tornadoes. The world around you is the tornado. There is chaos, excitement, conflict, busyness and massive amounts of energy both good and bad. You can be in the world, in the chaos, in the conflict and in the busyness or you can be the CALM eye of the storm. This calm eye of the storm is where I want to be…not reacting to what goes on around me but rather being peaceful and observing and then responding. I have thought of this concept several times since class. I can surely apply it to being a mom with my girls. The chaos that sometimes comes with having three little ones is like a tornado…I can be in the tornado as meltdowns and tantrums happen or I can be the calm eye. This, I think will help to dissipate the clamor.
I read this on a blog while looking for a good tornado picture…
Don’t dwell on the choking dust… Rise above the storm and see for yourself its wild beauty. Yield, wait and watch.
Stand back and look at all things as gifts. Even the tornadoes! I would rather have the tornadoes as learning experiences for the girls and I than to not have the opportunity for us to grow.
Ephesians 5:20 …always giving thanks…
1 Thessalonians 5:18 …give thanks in all circumstances…
My brother got his scarf and he loves it. So glad I was able to finish it up before Spring arrived!
