The kids woke up excited for a fun playdate at a new park…who would have thought this would be a highlight to my week before kids…funny how life changes! It use to be a new outfit or a night out now it’s a park or a fun time at the bookstore. I wouldn’t change it for the world, even if the park kind of blew up in my face. With a two year old that wanted to “GO car”. He decided today was not a day to be at the park while the three girls LOVED being at the park and did not want to leave. I tried distracting him, feeding him a snack, but he was not having it. We moved to another area to play and he was ok for a bit and then he kind of lost it and I said ok that’s it, we have to go…now it was three unhappy girls and one happy boy! Maybe tomorrow will be better for the little man we are heading to the bookstore and there is a train there!
A few blog posts I ran across over the weekend that was nourishment for the mind and soul!
Why We Need Older Mamas Funny when I read this I am smack dab in the middle of being the young mom and the old mom…still have one in diapers, two in preschool and one in 1st grade. I still have so much to learn but I can empathize with the new mom! It’s true the saying God brings you through something so you can help someone that goes through it after you. That is so true for motherhood…we are all in this together!
Children Are Not Check Boxes This one got me because I am such a list maker. I have a list to go through during the day to keep me organized and motivated. I need to remember that spending time with my kids is not on the list because I am suppose to just do it…be in their midst, listen to them, take time to sit and cuddle, read books, etc. When life gets crazy I forget the ease of this and start trying to check of boxes…then I have to stop, breath and realize what is the next thing I need to do to calm the house. Oh, if I could just remember this each day!
A couple of fun crafts to try in that last week before school starts and everyone is either bouncing off the walls or hanging from the ceiling!
Have a great week!
